It's baffling, it really is!
You know, people are scared of coming up and preparing for a challenge with the very people that can help them, the very people that can give the right tips, the very people that gone through it all! Yet, for some reason, quite a lot of candidates are afraid to come up and see what all the fuss is about in advance for fear of looking like an idiot, being told they're not able or whatever!!
Whatever the fears, they are unfounded and unnecessary.
Today, 7 people of 9 that said they would attend a benchmark prep day for March's Selection Challenge showed up and learned tons! Their fears were quickly put to bed, and things that they thought they knew, they found out they didn't know!
It has to be said that those that miss out on an opportunity to prepare for March for FREE are being very unwise!
We're not going to tell you you're crap or that you are useless or you're doing everything wrong, we're going to help you ascertain what weaknesses you have to work on and give you a direct, practical insight into what March will be like. 170+ people missed that chance today, for whatever reason!
Even for BUD/S or for the Marines there are prep courses, a chance to see what candidates need to do in order to get themselves ready for "actual" Selection - this is a very wise thing to do. To simply say, I'll be fine on the day, is dumbfounding! No offense to anyone, but it is!
Ask former Naval Special Warfare operative Chief WO3 Don Mann, P.O. Brad Mcleod, P.O. Dan Cerrillo, Cdr. Mark Divine, P.O. Marcus Lutrell or ask Andy McNabb, Rune Gjeldnes, Chris Ryan or any Bootneck, US Marine, Swedish Marinjägare or even the SSG and they will tell you; "I went to prep school before I went to school!"
Being honest, you're all missing the chance to gain valuable information that will assist you! It's about you, and your success in life, not ours, we've already succeeded, we've already sailed our course.
Today, 7 of 185 officially registered Selection Challenge(TM) Class 010 Candidates became stronger mentally, they have an insight into what is ahead of them, and they showed courage, determination and commitment by showing up today - the very characteristics that will ensure they succeed on March 24th. I'm sad to say, those of you that had the opportunity to show up today, but thought you would rather do something else and think you know it all and you'll be fine for March, I'm sorry to say you haven't shown those characteristics, and we encourage you to show up on February 23rd when we will run the final benchmark day before the big event on March 24th.
7 P's people - Prior Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance - and that means as a person, not physically!
It's so fantastic to have a full Ship's Company registered for the event in March, so many people to pass wonderful experiences and memories to. So many people that will have a unique bond! But we really need you all to show up, I urge you all to show up and I urge everyone that can make it to the last Benchmark day on 23.02.13 to do so! It will be the best decision you've made to date, the first of so many going forward in life...
Look forward to seeing many many more faces on Feb 23rd at 1200 in the same Dunes as today.
