Níl ní níos dainge ná chroí an óglaigh!
Say what? Ah here, lost the plot altogether our LT has, he’s talking gibberish eh! That’s where you’d be mistaken.
The above headline is the Gaelic for a phrase that echoes of everything true about those that choose the easy path in life compared with those that choose to take a chance and do more! Its translation is: There is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer.
Hellweek PT™ takes its motto from the ethos behind BUD/S - The only easy day was yesterday... But LT has a motto of his own taken from the virtue that everything we do in life is based on choice and it's always easier to let someone else do it than to actually live it your self!
Níl ní níos dainge ná chroí an óglaigh; is a statement. It says; I am here because I want to be, nothing will break me. I won't and don't quit. I believe in my self and by virtue of the fact that I choose to be here, I will succeed.
When it comes to experiences in life, I have spent a lot of my lif ebeing asked by others; What's that like? My answer has always been the same: It has to be experienced to be understood!
There is no point in other people telling you about something that you can't share in, there is no point in wishing you had taken part, done it, been there or been part of something! You just gotta take that first step: Choose action! Volunteer to be a part of it.
July 30th is less than 11 days away, it will be a momentous occasion for even the most seasoned of “athletes” and it will be the best day of many lives. The Selection Challenge is not for everyone, but it can be taken on by “anyone”. There is no Pass, no Fail, there is only you; You, 4 hours, 4 Evolutions, many different phases and your Ship Mates.
During the 4 Hour Evolution Endurance Challenge on Mornington Beach candidates are in and out of the Irish Sea in multiple different exercises doing crazy shit they couldn't dream up in a million years. They are wet, cold, tired and hungry irrespective of weather conditions: Sun beamng or Snow falling, the weather does not impact, nor does it dictate or MATTER! It only adds flavour to the event, atmosphere and encourages everyone to work harder together.
This event is something that cannot be described, you have to experience it your self to understand what it means to be part of the unique brotherhood (or sisterhood, whatever you want to call it) that is Hellweek PT™. It will inspire, it will develop, it will measure and it WILL change you forever. Looking back over the feedback received over the last year, I can only say that it makes me very proud to have had the opportunity to pass on the knowledge learned, to give an experience second to none and to have “challenged” some of the most amazing characters I have ever met.
Taking part in an event for glory, for profit or for pride is all well and good, but, when was the last time you took part in something for you? When was the last time you gave your self a test worthy of your character? When was the last time you stood up and made your self counted? This is your opportunity, your moment, fear and doubt may well be thundering like a freight train straight at you, but stepping up to that start line and saying, I’m here, I’m ready! That’s the heart of a volunteer speaking, and there is nothing stronger…
Do you have the heart of a volunteer? Then join us on July 30th on Mornington Beach from 1000hrs and take on the greatest physical and mental challenge you will ever face. Registration still open and places still available; http://www.runireland.com/events/hellweek-pt-4-hour-evolution-endurance-challenge
To all the Candidates already registered and looking forward to the event, to you I say once more;
“Níl ní níos daigne ná chroí an óglaigh...”
…There is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer
