Pain is your friend....

14 years old this clip is now, and still it resonates with anyone that understands exactly what is meant by it...

G.I. Jane is a fantastic movie, a movie about a fighter, someone who believes in what they are fighting for and will go to any lengths to win! There are several clips in this movie that really hit home if you have ever gone for a selection course, and then to others, it's just a cool movie. It is indeed a cool movie, but there is such a deeper hidden message in there, and this clip tells it like it is.

There is one thing about this film though, they are not training to be SEALs, some of them already "are" SEALs, they are training to be CRT's using some of the BUD/S program. It's purely fictional, but it rocks.

You might have seen this movie and thought to your self, hell I could do that, but I'm not joining the Navy to do it! Or, maybe you have an interest in the military and would like a taste of what it's like to see if you can handle it. Maybe you're just a really competitive person, adventurous and slightly nutty, or perhaps you're looking for some inspiration in life to help you reach a goal - be it a marathon, a triathlon, half marathon or ironman, maybe it's just the sense of achievement to help you move on in life...

...well, look no further, because right here in Ireland, on Mornington Beach in County Meath, you can experience the same as many other have done in the past year. You too can experience a little of the SEAL and Commando treatment, and there's absolutely nothing fictional about it;

On July 30th this year, Class 006 will cross the Hellweek PT(tm) Quarterdeck and face-off with an intense and gruelling 4 hour challenge on the beach based entirely on Elite Military Selection Processes comprising of condensed phases of US Navy SEAL BUD/S, Commando and CSAR selection.

This is not bootcamp, this is not a fitness session, this is a test: A measure of your character! Prepare to meet your self for the first time, prepare to learn just how far you wil go and what you are willing to do to survive and beat the odds.

The event takes place on Mornington Beach in County Meath, Ireland as stated on July 30th. Registration is 18 Euro and includes a training plan that you can use to get your self ready for the event. There are also training sessions throughout the month of July, led by instructors in various places, to help you get your technique correct.
